In Thorton Wilder's play Our Town, what is the essential question Wilder is asking with the play? What is his answer?

This is a thesis I created...what do you think?

Thornton Wilder uses the play, Our Town, as a medium to connect with the audience to illustrate the meaning and purpose of life and to demonstrate the character’s failure to appreciate life when they can.

Any suggestions on how to change it or make it better??? anything would be helpful!!!

Dear Aych: One of the things Wilder is trying to impress on us is to live every day to the fullest because you never know how many days you're going to get. The girl who goes back to her 12th birthday realizes she and everybody else really doesn't notice other people, places and things, that we go through life with blinders on. Some may view this as depressing, but I think it's a wake-up call for us.

Yeah, it's basically "What's the meaning of life?" Also a statement that is basically put forth is "Enjoy life while you have it, don't let things slip you by." It's a REALLY good play. It's so sad, but it also leaves you with that feeling of inpowerement. First time I read it, I cried my eyes out.

What is the meaning/purpose of life?
To enjoy each other while we can. (But we're to busy with other stuff to even notice each other until it's too late.)

It's a pretty depressing play, but I still like it.
