I've been fortunate to work for many competent and appreciative, respectful managers who trusted my judgement. I especially like a manager who lets me do my job, but assists when I need it. I appreciate a manager who gives constructive feedback as well! Employees can definitely help make your job more pleasant, but a manager is the one that makes or breaks a job for me.

I've found it difficult at times to work with some co-workers (I've worked with at least one co-worker who had recently been let out of a mental institution). But I've definitely quit a job when I had an awful manager...by awful manager I mean: someone who treats you disrespectfully, doesn't appreciate you, doesn't encourage you, and if they do interact with you, they only know how to share negative feedback, not constructive feedback.
