1. Great Britain imperializing Africa. There was a scramble for Africa so other European countries also imperialized Africa like France.
2. France, Russia and G.Britian imperializing China. Also a scramble for China. However, China was divided into 'spheres of influences'. So the imperialism wasn't so direct in China as was in Africa.

Look at the the time period a couple years before WWl. France, England, Germany, Russian, Italy and some others were running around Africa, and China like crazy people. The US did take some Philippine Islands for a period of time.
