Do I get 1200 security and 1st and last months rent? A total of 3600?

It depends on what the landlord will accept. $3600 is reasonable, but I would guess that 2640 would be more likely - first, last, and 20% security.

It depends on the renter.
Our place just required a 1200 security deposit and the first month's rent. That's all.

If you want to, most landlords have just been requesting 1 month of rent for a security deposit.

That would be fairly common. Some apartments might not require quite that much.
