Adobe Image ready, and AfterEffects are excellent for creating .ANI's...There are some freeware apps that will work well also.
I've never used animation shop, so I can't comment on its usefulness. Oh yeah, there is also microsoft gif animator too.(I think its free.)

Corel Animation shop 3 is good for animated gifs but Flash Professional 8 and orther items like that from macromedia are even better.

save it on your pc. in case you have Photoshop, open it and it will open in separate frames. visit View and click on Animation. you will might desire to save the frames for this reason to the type you want them to coach in a gif. digital mail me for extra particular training.
