What is the trick or method to solving a rubix cube?

There has to be some sort of trick to get all the sides the same at the same time. What is it so I can impress my friends? Thanks.

There are basically 4 moves other than the basics that you have to learn to do to solve the rubix cube. It's too difficult to explain in words. I'm sure you can find the solution on the Internet:
