I’m really not compatible with American women, we just don’t seem to get along. We just want drastically different things. But I have found that I get along very well with Brazilian women, I’ve traveled a lot and have found that Brazilian women generally posses the attributes that I seek. I find them to be kind, strong, passionate, hard working, monogamous, family oriented, and obviously beautiful. I know you can’t generalize an entire people even if the stereotype is positive, but in my personal experience I have found that there are many Brazilian women like I have described.
With that being said there are not many Brazilian women in the US, so I was thinking of going to Brazil to find the women of my dreams. The problem is that I have heard people(mostly Women) say that I would be taking advantage of poor women who want to get out of poverty, or that it’s the same thing as sexual slavery or a mail order bride.
But personally I don’t think its anything like that, it’s not like I’m a big fat loser who can’t get a women so I prey on disadvantaged foreign women. I’m actually 28 years old, Caucasian, 6-1, 200 pounds, dark hair, blue eyes, athletic body frame, a college degree, a very good high paying job, I’m monogamous, generous, and I treat women very well. So what do you think? Is what I’m doing unethical?

CindyLu, what are you talking about? I said I wasn't generalizing, it was my personal expierence that I found Brazilian women to have the qualities that I wanted.
And I'm not intimidated by American women, like I said I'm just not compatible with them.
I won't even touch the traitor comment.

Nothing wrong with that… I am sure you can find an honest and beautiful woman down there that can love, respect and take good care of you (I am sure you can find Americans like that as well). But be aware that there are con artists and schemes and there are a lot of women who would marry an American for his money or just to get a green card. If you get involved with someone, make sure that she has good character and was raised in a good family (doesn't need to be rich, but it MUST be honest). Don't go falling for the first pretty girl you find and avoid the internet or you will certainly suffer nasty consequences. I would try to find a woman here in the US first, an established professional, someone who already have her papers and don’t need you to marry her to stay in the US. There are indeed a lot of pretty Brazilian women, but finding the right one is no easy task. I grew up in Rio and had many Brazilian girlfriends, but the girl who won my heart happens to be an American. We’ve been together for 12 wonderful years and I wouldn't trade her for any Brazilian on the Victoria Secret catalog. Well, good luck, my friend!

If it is true that you travel, then travel to Brazil and meet women at cafe's, restaurants, etc. Also join chat rooms based in Brazil that are interest based not dating based. There are many Brazilian women in the US but I think most are students or married. Maybe not in your area. There is nothing wrong with seeking out a women from a different culture anymore then it is unethical for a man to prefer blondes. It is asking for trouble to join a marriage service. I speak as the wife of an immigrant and the daughter of an american and chilean.

I'm born and raised Portuguese and very familiar with Portuguese/Brazilian cultures and yes, in general your perception is correct. I also had issues with not being compatible (in general) with American men and guess what? I married one! He had all the attributes I found important. There's nothing wrong with your preference, but keep your eyes and heart open to all and you will be pleasantly surprised. If you live near a major city, you will find pockets of different nationalities that you can enjoy getting to know. If not, go ahead travel to Brazil to enjoy the country, the culture and its people. (Just don't travel solely to find a love match). Sorte boa a você

Unethical? No. But I must warn you: What you're saying here puts up a yellow, maybe red, flag for me. If you had said you wanted to go to Brazil for several reasons, and not just for a woman, ok.
But if this is about Brazilian women, there are many Brazilian women in the US; some immigrants from Brazil. Brazilians comprise various ethnicities and have all sorts of attitudes and lifestyles. So when you say you're not compatible w American women, sounds like you're overlooking some problem in your personality that keeps you from hooking up w/one out of millions of women.

not wrong, just misguided. Do you really think that your chances of going there for ...what? 1 year? 6 months? and find a bride are high? You will find LOTS of women, of course, because men like you, from rich countries, with a stable job, who can 'save' them, are exactly what is appealing to a lot of Brazilian women. So, here's my thing. be real, if you want to go there to 'save' someone, who will adore you (for a while) , then you'll have done the right thing. if you want a real relationship with an equal, well, that takes time, and can't be planned in your trip itenerary. what can i say...i lived in cuba and have seen this scene happen over and over again. not that true love doesn't happen, because i hope it does, but it can also happen here....lots of women have these qualities here, and they are not waiting to be saved...trust me, let things happen naturally, and you will find your woman wherever it may be...regardless of country .

If you really believe the girl of your dreams is in Brazil, by all means, go to Brazil! It's not like you're the first American man to marry a Brazilian woman...you're not making a controversial decision, so don't over think it, okay?
How's your Spanish? Sure would be nice if you take the effort to learn the language...that would surely score big with the lovely senoritas.
GOOD LUCK!

I really don't think so. I do not know any Brazilian wives, but I have known five women born abroad who married American men and are largely happy with the situation--at least no more unhappy than any other long term married woman. You should go with your heart on this one.

This type of marriage can be a win win for you both. You get the subservient woman you want and she gets out of a life of what we perceive as disadvantaged. If you chain her to the stove or she drains your bank accounts and disappears...well that can happen...shame on you both.
You may meet the woman (from East Pough Dunk, Lower48. USA) of your dreams on the plane to Brazil and you will need to flush your plan.
