hey have any of guys read a book called "There Are No Children Here" by Alex Kotlowitz. (Book Review please..)

What are your opinions about this book? Is it an interesting book? Like or Dislike about it?Is it worth to read?..etc..

I read about a 40 page excerpt of it from English class.

If you didn't know what it's about, the basic story is a woman named LaJoe trying to raise her children in a slum of Chicago.

While it was interesting and shocking in some places, it was in general a bit too descriptive for me.

I would say it's worth reading, though. It was very eye-opening in some places, and explains a lot.
