I put my thermal casserole in dishwasher and casserole cover is wasted??Any suggestion?

i accidently put my casserole covers in dishwasher(on the top rack)..the thermocol or whatever they put there is all swollen and i cannot use my covers to close the bottom pot. Do anyone of you have any suggestion as to how I can restore them?
