I'd like to curl up in a ball and not see anyone the rest of my life. But then, who would feed me?

Shake it off, and do what needs to be done.

Yes, I believe it is a natural part of life. The Bible speaks of Jesus going into the wilderness for forty days to be alone. Are we any better?

(Mark 1:13) And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

yes normally after a really nasty thing has happened. the best thing to do, is just let it pass, you should feel better afterwards,as nobody should endure endless saddness without letting it out.
