I think from an asteroid. I had a astronomy professor in college who used to work for NASA and that is what he believed. Earth has had close calls but one day big enough asteroid will hit us. Like the one that killed the dinosaurs or bigger than that. Okay, other than that other ways the world can end are: Nuclear War, Global Epidemic such as a super virus, Global Warming, Ecosystem collapsing, Global War, Robots taking over (hey, you never know thousands of years from now), or Alien Invasion(if you believe in that).
And say the Earth avoids all those then it will eventually die when the sun dies which is approximately 5 billion years from now (Sun is halfway there).
"In about 5 billion years, stellar evolution predicts our sun will exhaust its core hydrogen and become a red giant. In so doing, it will become thousands of times more luminous.[3] Even in its current phase of stellar evolution, the sun is increasing in luminosity (at a very slow rate). Many scientists predict that in fewer than one billion years, the runaway greenhouse effect will make Earth unsuitable for life."

If the world survives that long, in about 2 billion years, long before the sun starts to expand into a Red Giant, the sun will have gotten hot enough to start boiling the oceans on the earth and most life on earth would probably cease around then. If not, then in another 2 or 3 billion years, the sun will have grown to a size that will engulf Mercury and probably Venus too, and the Earth, if not also swallowed up, will have a molten rock surface.
The Earth could at any time be struck by a large asteroid the size of Texas maybe, a planet-killer.
The Moon's orbit, between oscillating further away and closer in, may get too close to the Earth in a few 100 million years and be torn apart by the Earth's gravity. Then the Earth could be struck by a big piece of the moon, and that would be that.
Humans could unleash their nuclear arsenal and destroy the planet by poisoning the atmosphere and killing most living things with radiation.
Humans could boost the greenhouse emissions to a point where there is a runaway greenhouse effect, covering the earth with permanent cloud cover and trapping the sun's radiation. Venus is an example where the atmosphere is so thick and the sun's radiation is trapped - its surface temperature is over 800 degrees.
A nearby large star within 10 light years going supernova may destroy all life on earth by intense radiation.
Well, that's 6 anyway.

A direct collision by a soon to be announced one hundred twenty-five mile wide Asteroid which will smash into the Earth in April, 2011 causing it to move out of Earth orbit and slowly burn up and disintegrate as it's new path rotates it closer and closer towards the Sun where eventually it will be reduced to a burned out cinder.
As of the end of 2004, astronomers had discovered more than two thirds of the larger Near Earth Asteroids (diameter greater than 1 km)...and have withheld from public announcement the prediction on this particular one in order to avoid certain panic throughout the world.
btw...the code name for this TS/crypto sensitive cataclysmic Asteroid event is "Nemesis-41" named for the predicted date of impact rather than the date of discovery which is usually applied to Asteroids.
(NOTE: it is a high probability that this Answer will be deleted at any time once government officials become aware of it's existence.)

1.) In approximately 4 billion years the sun will explode. No more heat. Simple.
2.) GLOBAL WARMING! The polar ice caps will melt in the arctic and sink the Earth.
3.) GLOBAL WARMING AGAIN! The ozone layer of the Earth will disappear and we might all burn....
3 Main reasons

With the "Final War" this will be the most powerful countries at war and they will use nuclear weapons causing all of us to die. It says in the bible the main powers from the 4 corners of the world will end it for all of us.

Oh boy, thank you public school system for once again teaching our children crap.
The book of Revelations gives us the end of the story, and that is how it will end. Period. One way - God's way.
If your household is Christian, please make sure your son knows the difference between merely satisfying a class assignment based on a lie, and discerning the real truth in God's Word!
