I have been in the business for almost 8 years now, so if anyone tells you to pay them up front for ANYTHING, you should run, not walk. The good scam artists run "modeling and talent agencies" and will convince you to pay for the fee that enables them to put you in thier "modeling book" or for "registration fees." Basically, the scam is hidden under big words that sounds legitimate. I got scammed when I was 16 by a woman who promised me that I was perfect for this Macys modeling gig but that I had to pay 200 bucks so she could post me in her website and represent me. She VANISHED the day after I payed her. She even had a real office, website, and modeling pics in her office. SO PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THAT. An agency can only suggest headshot photographers, but even then, you should not be forced to use thier "recommended" photographer. The only money they get from youi is the small 10-15% from whatever paycheck you recieve from the modeling gigs that they help book for you. I hope this helps. There are a lot of REALLY REALLY good scam artists out there and they are beyond good at what they do.

Not in a legitimate agency. There are a LOT of "agencies" out there that make their money scamming the "models". Stay clear of any that charge you. They are scams. Of course, if you are like the majority of people who simply want to be called a "model" then go right ahead and pay for the privilege.

do not pay!!!!! i got caught up in a scam that i had to pay for their 'services' an basic fee, then photographers fee then prints then......well you get the idea. if they want you to put up 1 red cent---run in the other direction--if a real agency wants you---they'll PAY YOU!!! TRUST ME ON THIS. good luck to you.

So what does that tell you? If they think that they can make money with you they will be willing to invest. Post your portfolio and see what happens. You do have a portfolio don't you?

Nope, if they want you they will provide you with whatever you need and take a percentage of your earnings as payment.
