Because teens think that its going to make them popular and that people are going to like them more. It is just like television shows such as the HILLS, The Simple Life, and Laguna Beach. This show pretty much makes people think that you need to be skinny to be liked. I am a very skinny person and i get made fun of alot for that. So try to let kids know that just because you are skinny, does not mean you are going to be famous or even popular. To get back to your question a little more, I think teenagers are affected by celebs is because the celebs have everything a teenager could ever want. Money, cars, and Clothes!! Teenagers just dont know that there is more to life than looks and popularity.

Most teenagers are affected by what the teens do because maybe they want to be like them. I meen they don't have to work out or anything just to be a celeb. Sometimes kids just force themselves to look good like celebs because sometimes a lot of kids say you look like this person...and so on and so on then when they don't menchine the other kid then that kid becomes pretty mad or upset and will do anything to become like a celeb. It has happened with a lot of kids I know! Don't you try doing it either because you are fine the way you are and you don't need to change.

Well i think that not all of us (teenagers) don't forces on the way we look b/c some of us think of each other looking good and the ones that went to be like a celebrities have problems oh the way they look.So they can't help it and i seen some people like that. Celebrities are people too and they use to look like us before they got started in there career. Well i hope i helped you in your Question.

There are some magazines like that, mostly fashion oriented because you're supposed to "show off the clothes." But the biggest readerships of magazines don't actually support that. If you read CosmoGirl! or Seventeen they promote health and acceptance of your body. It's a wonderful thing and I hope they continue doing so.

i think sometimes people take everything they read in magazines as truth. if they see it in cosmo or glamour it has to be true. and so many times its not. teenagers see the way celebs live and the things they get and they want them. they think if the look like them or act like them that they can live like them

teenages are affected by it because they have no choice but to follow the "popular way" its just the way thier feeble minds work. once they get older, they begin to develop thier own style and become aware of the way the media works. though some never really grow out of this...the media isnt going to change, its the way things have been for many years, and it still will be for years to come.

I dont know...it's really weird because I read loads of teen magazines and they're always going on about how important it is to be healthy and avoid diets but then they have these emancipated supermodels on the next page...kinda contradicts itself..
