He was released from prison in 2003 but went back b/c he violated parole in that same year. He was charged while in prison for being a fugitive and not paying the fines. He owes over $5,500 in fines and has to pay them but he says he only has $300 that he can spare right now and he says he faces 15 years for it.
I looked online and checked it out myself and it's true.
Can they do that even though he wasn't free when they made the charge and b/c he has his criminal history and they will lock him up?
How can he get any real help?

I meant to say he violated probation not parole. And he knows better than to ask me for money.

The courts are always willing to work with people if they have fines. Interestingly you note that he returned to jail in 2003 for violating parole, which sounds like one among many that have only dug him in deeper. He can get some real help by makeing a plan with the court and probation and parole to live a crime free life and pay his fines. It likely will lack the highs that often go along briefly with the criminal lifestyle but it will also lack the lows of prison.

If he has asked you for money, I beg that you exercise tough love and decline.

I'm sorry he'll have to pay the fines it is not what he can spare it what he owes. He needs to sent in the $300. and send money every week from now on. Once been in court and you are given a fine you pay it or stay on the run for the rest of your life.

There is no way if he hires a lawyer he will still lose for sure and he will lose the $300.00,I think there is no way.

P.S,I asked my father about this and he is a lawyer.
