Either you have a stitch or a pulled muscle. A stitch goes away by itself. For a muscle sit comfortably and if you have a tensor bandage put that on.

go see a doc...it could be anything from a cracked rib, pneumonia, or a pulled muscle..but the best thing to do is go see a doc...because to stop breathing is not an option.

Sounds like it could be a bruised rib.
Put some ice on it and be as still as possible.
If it doesn't feel better tomorrow, go see a doctor.
