Well it keeps the police from randomly searching your body, house, and vehicle.

It keeps the government from taking your property at will (unless you owned slaves or other contraband _ historical comment not racism).

There are many other things. I suggest that you actually read the Constitution and then imagine how it would be if those rights were nonexistant.

That you have the freedom to ask your question, uncensored by your government is another way. Check it out, it's a very good document.
