we must see through the eyes of the person we love and that
love in December may not be that in July ... or the love we feel in December May not be the love we feel in July so look through the eyes of today and don't compare apple and oranges .

I think that it means that someone who has no appreciation for a certain quality, or a type of person, cannot see their worth. :)
