My coworker had one last year, she said it was mildly uncomfortable, and they gave her some drugs to calm her. It was about $250. I think it's more emotionally scarring than anything.

it is very physically painful for the fetus, and will cause the mother pain afterwards, on varying levels based on exactly what procedure was done, and how late in the pregnancy, and if there were any complications. as far as expense.. i've never had one.. so i don't know.. but i'd say it would be expensive... anesthetic... dr fee, disposal of biohazardous materials, supplies used during procedure, possible hospital stay and medication, whatever charges occur with any complications that may arise... it all varies.. but i'd say its not cheap. you could call your local planned parenthood.. look it up online or in the phone book, and they would be able to give you more information.
abortion is also generally very emotionally painful, even if the mother really didn't want to have a baby.. so its always important for the woman to think deeply about it, and speak with a conselor or close friend, and the father, if that is an option. (i understand sometimes its not) its not something that should be rushed into... important to make sure the woman knows this is the best decision for her, and that she can live with making it. because once its made, theres no turning back. and adoption is always out there too.. many adoption agencies will pay for the mothers prenatal care and birth and hospital stay if she cannot afford it. and if its not the result of rape or incest, and the mother willingly consented to sex with the father... she should always consider his feelings as well.. as they child is as much his as hers.
your avatar is a male... so i'm wondering why you are inquiring about abortion?

According to PP:
"Cost
Costs vary from community to community, based on regional and local expenses.
Medication Abortion
Nationwide, cost ranges from $350 to $650. Costs may be more or less, depending on whatever additional tests, visits, or exams are needed."
As for pain PP makes no mention, but there should be an anesthesiologist on board where it is performed.
Emotional pain for the mother would vary depending on her feelings for the procedure. At the time of abortion the fetus is not developed or conscious well enough to feel/process pain.
Hope that helped.

It runs about 300-400. It all really depends on how far along you are. Its not painful because they give you an anesthetic. Theres a small amount of bleeding afterwards or you may have some cramps

It is horribly painful. Physically and emotionally. But people get through it somehow. As for cost, it depends on where you go. I wouldn't go to some little clinic that isn't well known..you could catch something, or its a plant. ( a group, that poses as doctors, and waits postpones your appointments, and procedures so its too late to get an abortion...) I recommend Planned Parenthood. Their website, has prices listed for their services. Good luck.

Abortion is not necessarily a physically painful experience because anesthesia is used. The pain afterwards is similar to that of menstrual cramps. It is also not an expensive procedure. If you pay for it (meaning no insurance) I believe it's about $300 - $400.

HOW ABOUT JUST USE PROTECTION...THEN YOU WONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE WOMAN NEEDING AN ABORTION...WHICH BY THE WAY IS EMOTIONALLY DEVESTATING, EXPENSIVE, AND UNHEALTHY FOR THE WOMAN. I AM PRO LIFE OBVIOUSLY, AND ANY CHILD DESERVES A CHANCE...SO JUST USE A CONDOM...AND MAYBE SHE CAN USE SOMETHING AS WELL, YOU SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT...BE RESPONSIBLE BEFORE HAND

Yes it's expensive.
Not only is it physically painful but emotionally it never leaves you.
So if you were thinking that she could just have one fine but it's not that simple for her! Who knows it may just effect you too!

Excuse me but Yes it is physically painful and mentally painful and if a man insist on a female to have one then they should cut off there penis and tape it to there foreheads. It is totally up to the female because she is the one that has to put her body through it.
