This question clearly illustrates the mental acuity of most of our population. When I see the Presidents approval ratings I merely remind myself that 72% of the people in this country are actually this ignorant.

Even if the US were not at war, it would not be the Federal government's job to "fix" New Orleans.
My hero, Bill Cosby said that it was time to stop blaming white people for all the problems of African Americans. And he said it in New Orleans.

New Orleans is a state they are responsible for their own rebuilding. Congress controls all the money . All a president can do is declare it a disaster area and it is up to congress to handle the rest through FEMA or who ever.

It's Gov. Blanco's and Mayor Nagin's job to rebuild, Bush can't oversee every weather-related disaster in the country. Is he supposed to fix MS river floods and the Florida tornadoes too??

Why should the USA taxpayers pay to rebuild that swamp that is below sea level and river level?
