I have asked a million questions on ttc, me and hubby are still trying. It's going into 17 months and I am panicky cause I never had this issue. It took no time to get pregnant with my son. But new husband this time so maybe thats the issue. We both have a child though. What is my next step? Anyone out there already had a child and tried again and it took a long time? If so how long? Please share any advice or experience you have had with this. It may give me hope and make me feel a bit better. Thanks!!

I have had two children with no problems getting pregnant, but I am now remarried to a man who has no children of his own. We are going on 5 mths of ttc now. My new husband has retrograde ejaculation caused from diabetes and he is taking bronkaid to help with that. Our fertility doctor told us that we can get pregnant in spite of my husbands problem, but we would have to give it sometime. I should also let you know that I had my tubes untied - that is a whole other issue.
I will tell you this - from all the reading I have done on TTC - it is my understanding that healthy adults that have not gotten pregnant in one year of trying should consult a fertility doctor.
Additionally, it is not uncommon for couples to have fertility issues after having no problems getting pregnant the first time. My brother and his wife have a daughter that is 12 - my brother and his wife have not been able to have another child. They gave up trying after 5 years. They never went to a fertility doctor to find out why.
I would suggest you find a good fertility doctor to first have your husbands sperm count done. That is pretty cheap and easy to do. Your doctor will let you know what to do from there.

My husband & I have been TTC for almost 2 1/2 years now and we haven't got pregnant either! I know how you feel! The only difference is that we don't have any children, yet! We are trying for our first! We have both been to the doctor and nothing is wrong with either of us...it's just not happening! It gets so frustrating! I sometimes just want to give up, but then I think I'm a bad person for thinking that! I really hope you get pregnant soon...I know exactly how you feel! Good luck...

Go out tomorrow and get the book "Taking charge of your fertility" I had a friend who was in the same situation as you.... got pg with her first (on a fluke) and then when they tried for a second she couldn't get pg. Turns out she really didn't understand her cycle the way she thought. She read the book and got pg the next month. Good luck!
