think of anything that made a large impact (9/11, death of a friend) on either the way you see the world, or the way you interact with it. On the small side: for instance, a parent may say something very small that negatively impacts you for a long time. example as a kid my mom said something about my bad singing. And I never sang out loud for years!
On the good side, my parents always let me figure out the technical stuff, hence all those years putting together toys, setting the vcr clock paid off -- technology - that's where I make my living.
