ESPN has two sides to their brain, Football and Basketball. God forbid Cold Pizza or Mike and MIke go one day without talking about these two sports constantly. There is baseball spring training going on, the NHL playoffs are shaping up, but Mike and Mike want to debate if chartreuse is a crayon or Cold Pizza wants to debate the Duke-UNC foul all show long. Screw ESPN.

Its not just PTI and Around the Horn, its ESPN in general. I am fairly certain they do not know the NHL came back from the lockout. Since they stopped covering NHL games live, they stopped caring. They would rather cover MLB spring training then give a dang about hockey, get over it, ESPN sucks.

There are not a lot of huge stories in the NHL. You dont hear about TO's or anything like that in the NHL. Also, ESPN hates the NHL after the strike.

It is a shame that they don't. I am a fan of hockey and the New York Rangers. They should talk about it more. It is an exciting sport to watch.

because the shows are on ESPN and are produced in the states...I bet they set a minute or so aside for the Ottawa-Buffalo fights though...the fact is in the US hockey is really only popular in and around cities that have an NHL team.

Wish I knew the answer to that as well.
My 2 cents would be since their games aren't on ESPN anymore then ESPN will hardly mention it. Which is sad & disappointing.

it's produced in the states. our hockey coverage SUCKS. plus, it's on ESPN, who terminated their contract after the strike. hockey as a whole cut their nuts off with that stupid labor strike. face it, no matter how much i like hockey (and i'm a soccer fan, too) it's just not popular or understood in most of the us. get you some digital cable and the centre ice package for better coverage. it's our only choice here in the states!

They have nothing to say except that it's boring or that no one watches. They know nothing about the actual game. These are, of course, the same guys that argue relentlessly about "interesting" topics in PGA and NASCAR. Given the absurdity, I'm ok with them just leaving hockey alone.

because bettman took more money from "versus" and ESPN did not fight for the NHL rights to broadcast, the media gets it's way by ignoring it.

Because nobody on ESPN know anything about hockey. I'd rather they not talk about it then talk some bullshit that doesn't even make sense.
