I would like to know your opionions. Do you think that the late great Aaliyah would have given an Oscar worthy performance in Dreamgirls as Deena? She def. had the soft voice and the acting prowess. I think that she would have done a way better job than Beyonce did. Beyonce didnt get ne nods but the golden globe and she lost that...

I think Aaliyah's personality and natural body type would have fit Deena better. Beyonce was "holding" back her voice for the role, and she lost weight to play Deena (Beyonce thought she was too curvy to play Deena). Many industry players said Aaliyah was a force to be reckoned with when it came to acting, and it was sad she didn't get to display it more before her death. Aaliyah was supposed to be the lead in "Sparkle" (which is now given to Raven Simone), she was supposed to be the lead in that movie "Honey", but they gave it to Jessica Alba after her death, and as your already know she was supposed to be in the Matrix.
The 2 movies I did see with Aaliyah, she was great in. It still bothers me to this day we will never see her full potential. I think if she would have been casted, they might have put Dreamgirls up for best picture for the Oscars (rumors are Dreamgirls wasn't nominated for best picture because Beyonce's acting wasn't strong enough). Sadly, we would never know.

I think that Aaliyah would have done a better job than Aaliyah did. No offense to beyonce but Aaliyah voice is so pretty and i think that it would have went good with the movie. She would have done a better job than Beyonce did and she would have gotten awards as well

no when aaliyah was alive she didnt do alot of acting to prove she was any good but she did play in queen of the damned and that was just aight but beyonce would be betta

um.... ok... Aaliyah was not that great of an actor anyways... (Not that Beyonce is either)... but beyonce has the body.... aaliyah was too skinny with noooo chest.
