My father thinks it does and I think he's nuts- who's right?

I live in St. Louis and No...the Arch doesnt affect our weather

I don't know what the arch is, but I can't see a man-made structure having more than an effect on the micro-climate, as do walls, houses etc. If you're asking does it make it rain more/less in St Louis, then, of course not. You need huge amounts of energy to make rain-clouds, to lift the water-vapour in large enough amounts, & to make the air-currents that disperse the clouds across continents, & large air movements to alter the vapour-pressure in the air enough to cause condensation & precipitation. A range of hills will do this, or an entire city, but something small like a building has little effect in general on local weather.

No, the arch is a hunk of metal...kinda like a building...and of course buildings don't effect the weather so why would the arch?
