I have gotten emails and letters from many prestigious colleges of engineering, especially in the Ivy League. I'm interested in chemical, mechanical, automotive, and test engineering, but don't know which one to choose. Could anyone give suggestions on picking the right college?

Engineering is a very difficult major. I know...I am one (chemical). As far as choosing, follow your gut. Research what each of them does and what kind of salary you'd get and what the job market is like. I went for chemical because at the time, though I was more interested in aeronautical, there weren't many jobs out there for aeronautical.

Here is my piece of advice for once you are in engineering (from my experience). Succeeding is part brains and part effort. I had a hard time coming from HS not having to study and getting great grades. You will need to study in college and study your butt off. We started with over 100 che students freshman year. By the end of sophomore year (after the weeding out), we had around 35. I knew several friends who were smart as heck, but didn't want to put in the effort into the major and got weeded out. So my advise is just that....you will not succeed without putting in the time and the work. It may sound kind of parental now, but once you are in the thick of it and really don't want to spend the 4th night in a row staying up to 2am with your study group doing thermo homework...you'll know what I mean.

Good luck!

job flexibility (to illustrate corporation or administration as hostile to truthfully engineering) might want to correctly be present day in ANY engineering field. you would possibly want to continually bypass into revenues, administration, or Patent regulation no remember what your degree is. basic income and job possibilities for distinct engineering majors might want to correctly be chanced on on the web. seem it up for your self. in case you do not earnings from the region do not forget that you're interpreting, then you fairly received't make all of it of ways by to commencement. you're merely dropping some time in case you ultimately drop out of faculty. I say, %. something that you want, and bypass for it.
