I would try to find another doctor, especially OB/GYN if you can. The most critical times for miscarriage, etc are in the first 12wks of pregnancy and you should be comfortable in knowing that if you are experiencing a problem, you will be able to call and get right in. With both of my pregnancies, I was seen before I was 6wks along. While you may be comfortable with this doctor, pregnancy can be a delicate situation and as I mentioned, I would want to know that if I was having pains, weird feelings or bleeding, etc, that I could call and get in quickly to see my doctor.

They are making you wait until 3 months? Thats ridiculous. I mean they always say that you are supposed to go in and get prenatal care as soon as you find out your pregnant. The sooner the better. I'm 8 weeks and i went in last week for my first appt. Maybe you should try another doctor

I found out like 4-5 days after my missed period and I called and they set me up an appt for the next week and they confirmed the pregnancy and wrote me a prescription for prenatal vitamins and sent me to have bloodwork done, then set me up the following week to have my pap and such. With my first they wouldnt see me before 10 weeks and my second I got right in cuz I was way further along and couldnt get into the doctors due to insurance/financial issues.

I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks at the doctor and had to be sent to hospital because of a UTI. They started me on prenatal vitamins and took blood samples. I then called the OB as instructed and had my first real prenatal appointment at 8 weeks. I think it depends on your doctor.

I went in at 6 weeks when I found out that I was pregnant, they did a sonogram to confirm and make sure of how far along I was, gave me some infomation and the book, 'what to expect when your expecting; the next visit was 1 month later they did blood work, a pap and another sonogram (my dr. does more sonos than usual) I think 3 months is too long, get in there sooner! Good Luck

I had taken a pregnancy test 7 days before my period was due and it was positive so i made an appointment to go to the doctor like 2 days later. They done blood work, a pap and wrote me out prenatal vitamins.

It really depends on the doctor. When I found out I was pregnant, I was 8 weeks along. I called a reputable doctor to see when I could get my first appointment, and he wouldn't see me until I was 12 weeks. I decided to go with a mid-wife that was in his practice cause she didn't have a limitation and would take me immediately. My suggestion would be to call around and find out.

My grandmother was a nurse for 40 something years and she made me wait until I was three months pregnant before going to the doctor. She said that most doctors like for you to wait so that you will have a less of a chance of miscarrying.

I have never heard of a doctor making you wait until your three months to be seen I would go somewhere else because anything can be going wrong with your baby early detection helps. Go find yourself another doctor.

with my second daughter, I tested positive two days before my missed period, and I made my appointment the next day. They took me within two weeks. Go as early as you possibly can to ensure the health of your baby and get a more accurate due date. Also you will be able to start your prenatal vitamins as early as possible. The earlier you start, the better chance you have of a healthy pregnancy!
