They are wasting it on vote buying policies. Their power is more important to them.

You ask a question that has so many layers of response but I will focus on only the issue at hand.

State governments are allocated specific amounts for prevention and enforcement from the Federal government. Within those budgets, they distribute funds for gang intervention and response.

Bottom line: there is just not enough money to address a growing problem.

Because the Federal government has persisted in following a failed strategy in so many other areas, the border, war on drugs, war in Iraq, etc., state governments are increasingly strapped for funds.

Let's be real here. Those people could give a rat's rear end when it comes to thinking about any one other than themselves. In this society it's all about pocketing the money.(for yourself). Who is going to give money if you can save it for yourself and pocket it?people who actually care that's who. They have their priorities all mixed up.

I totally agree with you. Gang activity is getting so out of hand. We are losing so many young kids with bright futures everyday to murder, or prision.

First of all they are to worryed about their own damn political life, they will spend money on other countries or states but not N.Y.they are worrying about other bigger problems rite now.

as long as the gangs aren't affecting the rich and powerful in a direct manner they won't do anything about it.
