I recently bought a rabbit/bunny (i don't know the diff :) ) he's sweet. But i was wondering, he's been with me for 2 days now and i haven't seen him eat yet the pellets i gave him. the pet store says thats the food they give to the bunnies/rabbits. but he's hyper and he loves to hop around the house. and one more, why does he like licking? does this indicate something? he always approaches me and then he starts licking my skin.. :p is it a good or a bad thing? thank you guys for answering. :)

rabbit - adult rabbit..bunny - usually means baby bunny [but a baby bunny is actually a kitten (99% sure)]
dont listen to the petstore..they probably give them not healthy pellets.. rabbits DO NOT need those pellets with all that color stuff in it - its not healthy. i recommend straight alfalfa or timothy hay based pellets . Oxbow and Kaytee both make them. [both of my bunnies eat those type of pellets and theyre healthy.. they like them BETTER than all that jazzed up pellets].
if hes a young bunny, hes going to hop around alot and get hyper - hes a baby - enjoy!
licking just may be a thing he does.. my rabbits both have weird quirks, licking may be your bunnies..if he starts to lick himself excessively [other than grooming] then you may want to get him checked out.
also other advice for baby buns: 1. plenty of exercise. 2. plenty of veggies and small amounts of fruit [apples, bananas are good choices].. 3. plenty of hay.. start out by giving them alfalfa hay until hes about 6 mos then switch to timothy hay. [alfalfa has calcium and other nutrients baby bunnies need]. he should always have timothy hay. limit the pellet intake.. depends on the type of rabbit and its weight BUT my reccomendation for pellets is about 1/4cup pellets a day [someone may correct me and say less or more but thats about avg]. its plenty trust me. 4. toys and rattles
other stuff you sould know : rabbits cannot throw up - brush him if he needs it. if his stool [poop] is loose or runny..something is not right - take him to the vets

[if you already know this stuff, apologies - but you sound like a first time owner and you need to know this stuff]

and he'll eat the pellets, give him a few days to find if he likes them.

None of my rabbits ever got into eating those pellets. They got some fresh veggies and fruits daily (but not a whole lot) and lots of alfalfa and timothy hay (a good pet store will sell these in little cubes, usually in a plastic bag of 6-12 cubes). If you can get loose hay that would be good too. After 2 days, he should be eating something. My rabbits would lick when they were showing affection. Just make sure you aren't wearing any lotion or perfume they might ingest.

well my rabbits, poor things, only eat those pellets, thats not good. but since yours doesnt like that, give her vegetables. go online and find out exactly what they should eat because i know some type of vegetables are not good and at the moment cant remember. the licking part is a good thing because its showing affection. oh heres a website

He might need salt or something. Try giving him vegetables. Not lettuce, though. It doesn't have any nutrients. This is a stupid question, but does he have access to water? Sometimes rabbits are used to drinking out of a troft or a bottle, and they won't drink out of anything else, and they might not want to eat anything until they have water.
