We were friends for about 3 years but all the sudden once we hit 7th grade he started being REALLY MEAN. I don't know what's come over him. I never did anything but say hi and send him a funny video and he got pissed off.

Oh yeah and the video was a video of a car doing a backflip so that didn't make him mad.

Most likely you are being a cockblock and don't even know it. More common than not, when you are friends with a guy and don't develop an intimate relationship, most guys are going to consider their relationship with possible girlfriends more important than their relationship with you. With you around in his immediate vicinity joking around and being friends most girls are going to think that you two are becoming serious or already are. My advice is to lay off of him for a while and watch who he is trying to be around. Become friends with her. That way he can be friends with you and be with her at the same time. And always be aware of the things that you do and say that may come across as flirting to an outside party.

His reaction seems too harsh and your description of him and your relationship doesn't seem to share all the details. The answer is in the details.

I could tell you a bunch of pretty reasons why he's going nuts and how you're just not pretty enough. But, it wouldn't make sense, nor would it be the real answer.

Maybe the answer will come if you give him space and cut ties with him. Make new friends, by his vocabulary he seems like a dick anyway!

It is very hard to give you an exact answer. His behavior could be nothing more than him adjusting to higher levels of male hormones or he might have a problem (as many guys do) expressing his deepest felt emotions (especially the ones he has toward you).

Give him some room, but do not hide any interest that you might have toward him. He will either find a way to adjust or eventually tell you something that might clear up his behavior.

Remember that guys tend to be short on patience, quick to anger and very slow to change or admit mistakes. Wait. Find out what is in your own heart first. Then make your choice as to wait for him to grow up or to leave him out of your life.
