mp3 is the correct format. Make sure that it is put in the correct folder or directory on PSP so that it picks it up!

Create a folder called MUSIC and drop in MP3 format music files in this folder!

my psp uses jpegs and mp3's. are you sure its mp3 format? it could also be this, Music-wise, you'll want to create a folder called MUSIC and drop in MP3 format music files (which means that you can't play music you get from the Apple iTunes Store, for example, because that's in a different format). I hope that'll get you going with this process. It doesn't seem too hard!
pictures you have to do the same. the pictures it uses is jpeg format. psp's are pretty good but to be honest after a while..it was alittle bit of a hassle because i kept worrying if i was gonna scratch the screen because anywhere i put it something was rubbing against it. Movie wise they don't make movies for the psp anymore, you have to download them or burn your dvd's, plus you constantly need to buy memory cards if you don't have enough memory....im probably happier with a video ipod for this department because ....theres a less hassle for me at least, but the psp is still great..i use it to play games when im on business trips. Enjoy.

It plays MP3 but if you want to play WMAs you have to download the latest firmware and click "enable WMA playback " under settings. Also check that you put the files in a folder called "Music" or else it won't work properly

it plays almost all music files
just plug in your psp, put it in usb mode, open the folder, go to psp, and then open the folder music. then just click and drag your music to there

The PSP can support regular .mp3 files, as well as almost any type of picture/photo (.jpeg, .bmp, .gif, .png, .tiff)

For music, put your files in X:\PSP\Music\ or X:\Music\
For photos, put your files in X:\PSP\Photo\ or X:\Picture\

(X: being your corresponding letter drive)

Hope that helps!
