Dark blood that looks almost black, is that old blood? Does it count as your period? What does it mean when your period get shorter? And what does it mean when your period starts off light, get's a lil heavy, and goes back light, and on...? What does it mean when you get lots more discharge? Last, what does it mean when you never had breast tenderness before or while being on period. Then all of a sudden you get sore breast after, before, and while your on your period (sore breast all the time), pregnant?

Dark blood is old blood. No, it doesn't count as your period, unless you have the bright new blood. Stress can make your periods shorter. Periods that start off light, get heavy and go back light are normal. Lots more discharge can be a sign of pregnancy. Breast tenderness all the time is another sign of pregancy.

Sometimes my periods started out with darker blood, sometimes brown, which was old blood, and I always still counted it as my period. My periods were always wacky and never really the same, length wise. It was sometimes 9 days and sometimes 6. I don't know why they do that. Mine always started off light, then got heavy, then got light towards the end... that's completely normal. I don't know about the discharge, sometimes I had more than others.
All of those sounded like normal period stuff... however, when I was expecting my period in August, I started getting really bad breast pain and tenderness. I waited for my period for a few weeks, but no, I was pregnant.
Sore breasts are definitely an early pregnancy sign, but can also just be hormonal changes.
There have also been women who had their period while pregnant.
So... I would say your best bet would be to do a pregnancy test, and if it says negative but you still feel you might be pregnant, go to your doctor for a blood test.
Good luck.

Blood that is almost black= old blood. yes it counts as your period. periods can get shorter or longer or not at all due to stress but see a dr about it. nothing wrong with your period getting light to heavy to light, mine does it all the time. depending on your discharge, it could be yeast infection or possibly regular discharge, pregnancy discharge or std. as for the breat tenderness, mine was like that and went to dr and i have fibrocystic breast, nothing major just means you have lumpy breasts, could be pregnant but i dont know. see your dr and see what they have to say.

all these symptoms are normal for your period, especially if you're young .. when you first start to get your period it can be a little off track and irregular ... and remember it's not really blood it's the lining of your uterus so it may be dark.
