Well, i have checked on here for similar questions and i would like to pose this question again. My almost-15-year-old step daughter is bored stiff at home and would like a job. She will be 15 by summer. She has done babysitting and i understand that is an option, but i am hoping someone out there has a new, interesting and wonderful idea for her. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help! Best wishes!

she could wash your car (i know of parents who have a daughter your age do that... they give her small spending money in return)... other ideas are help with the laundry, set the table for meals, bring the garbage out to the cans.... and then to the curb on pickup days, shovel the snow.... feed the pets (gives her a feel of responsibility and gains your trust)... wash the dishes by hand or help load and wash the diswasher... and if washed by hand dry and put pots and pans and plates and glasses away, water the plants, rake the leaves... these other ideas could be pay or really without pay... becuase without pay... she will be gaining a sense of responsibily and feel important that she has "jobs" around the house to do... and that she is helping out mom and your family... doesn't necessarily need to be a job outside the house, it could be around the house (unless that's what she is looking for... something to do outside the house, an outside job). I just mention things around the house since you said that she is bored stiff at home. Make her feel useful at home should do the trick! But don't make it feel like a list of chores or "work".... you could say that you think she is old enough to hold bigger responsibilities around the house.... jobs that you can trust her with.

Your step daughter should check-out some summer camp counseling. Maybe she will find something in her interest working with pre-teen youth in their artistic fields.

Well, I wish you the best of luck for your step daughter.

when i was a teen i worked at starbucks. it was a great job, they have really good pay, its fun to work there, and there are excellent benefits, although your daughter would have to work 20+ hours a week to receive them. Plus, you would benefit too, you would get a free pound of coffee a week, plus free drinks whenever you go in to see her (if the manager isnt a tightwad).

Well, few ideas are

>>Part time involvement in ad campaigns
>>Promotional campaign for product launch
>>Tutoring (Dont think she would like it much, though!! :P)
>>Take up online tasks such as data entry etc.
