I use "rat dog" a lot when referring to small yappy dogs. But, the first time I used it was in reference to a girlfriends Yorkshire Terrier. The funny thing is that Yorkshires were originally bred to hunt rats. *EDIT* Thought I would add some that I have heard over the years...Fat Cat, puppy love, birds of a feather (flock together), the cats meow. If you need to know what any of them mean, just let me know. *EDIT* Bill, great suggestions, they were a lot better than mine. Thumbs up for you.
