a 18 gets u into most state schools but if your aiming higher and want a better chance of getting in you should probably take the test again. Most people improve their second time around.
A piece of advice: Look at the colleges ur interested in going to and look at the requirements for admissions, if your still unsure about if ur score is good enough email an admissions counsoler they'll tell u straight up if ur score is good enough for them

I believe that ACT is probably the worst form of test. It is basically a test to test how well you can guess. If you have never covered a certain subject how are you to answer it without the knowledge. But on relation to your question a 21 is probably the lowest I would aim for 18 is good for a first try because look, you've never taken a test like it before. There are classes and books which can teach you strategies to score better on it. I would suggest retaking it, you can take it an unlimited amount of times, sure it takes a few hours but unfortunantly it can decide where you go in life. If you want some tips try asking the question "what are some tips to help do better on the ACT", and see what people say.

18 is the barest minimum to get into the State public school here. You definitely need to get that score up - way up. Someone mentioned 27 but over 30 would be best

No offense but 18 is pretty bad you need to get at 27 for it to be considered good. Take it again and study

I'd say that it really depends on what kind of school you may use that score to get into... Look up a few of your favorite schools or some that you have heard of and see what their requirements are!

27+ because it puts you in the top 10% in the country
