Which do you like better for a children's book series character: a giraffe, a koala, a hippo, or another animal?

I'd choose a strictly vegetarian animal like a koala or giraffe, otherwise you might run into trouble if you try to later describe their dining habits to a young readership. On the other hand, you could use a variety of animals and their interaction in a fantasy situation where their real characteristics become submerged.

I'd say a dog or a cat because they are the animals that young children are the most familiar with.

Actually, I was thinking of a skunk or squirrel. I think the smaller animals (even one that smells) can be easier to relate to, especially when you can walk outdoors and see one in your own backyard.....

I like frogs. Or something else that's not all fuzzy and cute and therefore, easily likeable.
