I can see a softdrink that includes diet drinks Veding Machine in High school in High School but but would not like anything else esp a chip/candy vending machine since in most high school cafeterias there is ice cream and some other treats available.. In high school the majority of kids have or one might think they havae the majurity and the nutritional information to make wise choices. To have Vending Machines of any kind in Elemenary and Middle schools i believe to be highly irresponsible of the school administrators that allow them to be places for neither do these children have the maturity nor the nutrition info and thereby do not have the knowledge required to make wise choice for are all children. To give a child the choice of vegetable or candy and most will pick candy and have no concern if their food intake is nutritious or not. Considering the obesity epidemic of the children in this country not only should Vending machines b banned in the grades below high school but the Schools themselves should be held accountavle for what they serve in their cafeterias considering the number of children that eat breakfast and lunch in these cafeterias. there should be federal guidelines or state guidelines set for nutritional menus /foods served and those schools who do not follow should be disciplined by less monies or food given to them.

well depends on what the vending machine has to offer. If the snack machine had healthy options like low fat animal crackers, reduced fat/baked or lite chips, granola bars etc. then vending machines would be great-especially for kids that didn't have time to eat breakfast, they could get a pop tart or something similar from the machine. The downfall would be if the machine had only fatty options-then it would be disastrous because a single item from the machine for example a honey bun contains over 40 grams of fat and no nutrients. Drink machines would be great if they had real juices and water instead of sugary cokes.

Pros:
Getting a quick energy boost before class when you feel hungry or thristy.

Cons:
Never having the exact change to get what you want.

Vending machine takes your money.

When the vending machine is about to give you your snack and stops before it falls down. AHHHHH!

Moron teachers: They wait until you buy your snack and as soon as you get it out they appear out of no where and tell you to give it to them.

Bad thing: Out of service when you really need it.

This is only positive if there are healthy things in those vending machines. The negatives are many, for example, cavities and obesity and poor nutrition from junk food!
