I grew up with dyslexia also. I mostly have trouble with numbers, I had to take most of my math courses in college twice. I understand completely. Have your case diagnosed professionally so that teachers, professors etc know you have a learning disability and try to teach you in a different way. You can learn though. I also mix-up my words when typing. Thank God for spell check on most systems. It is my favorite tool on MS Word and even here there is a spell check. I used to get made fun of in school as a kid, but I got over it. My disability does not define me. You can work through it also. I am now working on a Masters degree in Psychology. You can get here also. Check out Sylvan or Huntington learning centers, if you or your parents can afford it. There maybe some free tutors or learning sources that are in your area. Ask at the school counseling office.

Get tested with someone who specializes in learning disabilities! My brother has dyslexia and he wasn't diagnosed until high school. For years, he thought he was dumb. He's doing fine today, because he knows he has dyslexia.

My mom exhibits similar symptoms and she has dyslexia. As long as you're aware of the condition, you can get around it being a problem.
