Two millennia ago,
when Jesus Christ led the world,
the total world population was only between 200 and 300 million.

When Mahatma Gandhi had to lead,
the population of this globe has expanded to almost 4000 million,
among which 300 million were Indians.
So

Who is to be considered as....
the GREATEST leader among them ?

mahatma gandhi because he preached to everyone regardless of religion and precahed for everyone regardless of religion.
people of ALL religions can find inspiration in what he says.

this may be true of jesus christ too, but how much did jesus christ really travel in order to connect with people WORLDWIDE? gandhi had studied in britain, lived in south africa, and was born and lived in india. he also visited many other countries - and spread his message WORLDWIDE - even people of other faiths have followed him, such as martin luther king jr.

and to the person who said gandhi JUST achieved peace in india, so WRONG! - as i said, MLK took his ideas from gandhi and how else do we know his name WORLDWIDE?

Gandhi followed the teachings of Jesus - but then again - if their birth dates were switched, Jesus would have followed the teachings of Gandhi (and we'd all be celebrating 'Gandhimas' in October?)

An interesting (if somewhat uncomfortable) thought - if a man's greatness is judged by the number of people who followed their doctrine... where does Hitler figure in the sums?

Imagine a world that had crucified Hitler and followed Jesus..

Jesus Christ. Without Him there would not have been a world for Gandhi to lead.

I dont think world population had anything to do with their greatness. Jesus was a leader of 12 men only
Gandhi was spiritual leader of millions.
They were both wonderful men - why must we choose?

GOOD QUESTION!!!!!! For me it's Jesus but only because he is the basis of christian religion. The number of people on the planet has bugger all to do with it! How many people are devoted to Jesus Christ - How many to Muhatma Ghandi? I admire both with all my heart but Jesus is 'Da Man!'
