It really depends on where you're going
My friend went to DisneyWorld, and she brought back 3 things for me and about 4 other friends. During summer vacation, I'll find something for them if it reminds me of them.
It really depends on who they are, where you're going, and what you really want to spend

When my friends go away on vacation, I only expect to hear about it or maybe see some pictures. Some people do expect gifts --but I don't always do what is expected. When I go on vacation if I see something one of my friends or family might like then I buy it for them if I can afford it. I don't force myself to buy things for every person --I don't enjoy my vacation when that happens.

You don't have to bring back anything for them, but if you really want to, I would say to get them those key chains that have their name on it. Or, if you really want to give them a present....you could try like hell to get an autograph of someone they really like. Depends on where you go, though.,,........

I try to look for something that would fit my close friends, ie...if they like shotglasses, well I buy them oneand soforth, but as for just regularfriends...nope, well maybe a post card...

If the friend helps you out then yes. Not just somebody you know unless they pay for it.
