The chocolate capital of Argentina is Bariloche. In a number of the different shops (see below) you can see how they make chocolates. The make them in the stores with some of them visible to customers. Most are on Mitre Street. My favourite stores are (in no order):
- Benroth....I think the best
- Mamuschka - Mitre 216...fantastic store
- Bonifacio
- Fenaglio
- Tante Frida Chocolates
- Feroglio
- Abuela Goye
- Frantom
- Rapa Nui...some good ones here already boxed
- Turista...famous, but I don't think great

If you're going to Argentina and are looking to find chocolate, I suggest going to the wine making region of Mendoza. From Mendoza, take the "Bike & Wine" tour through Maipu and you'll visit a chocolate and liquer factory. They show you how they make both and you have an opportunity to sample both. You can also visit a bunch of bodegas (wineries) while you're there.
