Normal bathtub = approximately 2 feet wide by 1 foot deep by 4 feet long. That's 8 cubic feet.

At 7.48 gallons / cubic foot, thats about 60 gallons. Which seems a little much to me. I would have guessed between 30 and 50.

Anyway, the weight of 60 gallons of water is 480 pounds.

Do you feel that your bath is a little too heavy then?
If so, try putting a little less water in it. If, on the other hand, you think it is a little on the "light" side, add MORE water!
By doing either of the above, you will be able to obtain the optimum weight for your bath.
I like to keep mine to a trim 80 kilos.

If you assume the bath holds 30 gallons multiply this number X 10 this gives you the weight in pounds

30 X 10 = 300 lbs

1 gallon weighs 10lbs

A gallon of cold water weighs 10 pounds and it depends how many gallons you put in the bath. A full bath of cold water is very, very heavy.

What on earth do you want to know that for?

one litre of water weighs about 1kg.If you want to know how much water in your bath time how long it takes to fill say a 5 litre container, then you can time how long the bath takes to fill up and work out how many litres are in it.

your tub or mine?

measure the volume in decimeters (tenths of a meter) this will give you liters. 1 liter H2O = 1 kilogram. Therefore a tub that is approximately 6dm X 13dm X 3dm= 234liters or 234kgrams or about 515lbs.
