I don't need the date that the Emancipation proclamation was issued but the date the last slave owner followed it.

I don't mean when the Emancipation proclamation was issued i mean when the last slave went free from a plantation. I've only been able to find the oldest slave so far.

Charlie Smith claimed to have been the last American slave. He died in 1979 and claimed to have been 137 years old. He was originally from Liberia.

Though the Emancipation Proclamation had been announced on January 1, 1863, it had little immediate effect on most slaves’ day-to-day lives, particularly in Texas, which was almost entirely under Confederate control. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day Union General Gordon Granger and 2,000 federal troops arrived on Galveston Island to take possession of the state and enforce slaves’ new freedoms. Standing on the balcony of Galveston’s Ashton Villa, Granger read the contents of “General Order No. 3”:

The slaves in the northern states were not freed until 1867, two years after the war was over, and when pres. US Grant took office in 1869, he was told by congress that he would be impeached if he did not free his wife's slaves. YES, SLAVERY WAS LEGAL IN THE NORTH and slaves in the north WERE NOT FREED by the emancipation proclamation--read about it !!!!

Factually,there still are many slaves in the world. I know this isn`t the answer You were looking for, but sadly-it`s true.
