I think it should, but I need facts to support my opinion.

I think it eventually will be, at least in public. It is already illegal to subject people to poison against their will. Why should Americans be subjected to toxins from cigarettes? It seems illogical that it would be legal in the first place.

sorry, but the facts don't support your opinion. I personally don't smoke but I have taken history class in high school. We learned about what happened when the Government tried to outlaw alcohol. People still drank, but instead of tax paying corporations and farmers getting the benefits of the business it helped to make the mafia rich and powerful.

There are no facts to support your position. I'm not a smoker, and I don't like smoke. But I don't expect the government to illegalize everything I don't like.

Should wearing perfume be illegal? The problem with this is that you are infringing on peoples rights to live as they see fit. Anti-smoking laws are fascist. Tell me when they make something you enjoy illegal are you going to take it laying down or raise a fit about it?

Real freedom means not sticking your nose in your neighbors business.

No. There's a whole world of unhealthy things out there and I don't need someone telling me what to do. There are certain colognes and other things that people do that threaten my health. This blaming just smoking for all the worlds ills is crazy. There's tons of carcinogens out there that effect people worse than cigarettes.

The tobacco industry is too big for this to happen. If this were to really happen many tobacco farmers would lose their livelihood. It would also hurt the economy. I dont smoke, I dont like to be around people when they smoke, but I know that this would be a bad idea.

I am surprised how many people here want the "right to do unhealthy things", but are insisting on denying non-smokers a right to their own health. Smoking would not be so bad if the smokers did not force it on others.

Well if we all got what we wanted as laws passed half the time, none of us would have any rights all time...ohhh sorry I mean to say because we all got half of what we wanted, we are now living a police state. I think this is more accurate.

If it were made illegal, you'd better get ready for a tax hike. The money has to be replaced from someone else's pocket...

No. We should be free to make our own decisions. None of us need you or the federal government telling us we should not smoke.

No. I'm a lifelong non-smoker and you shouldn't be told not to smoke...informed of the risks, yes...and try to be courteous of people who don't want to breathe it in! But it shouldn't be outlawed.
