how can i get my fiance of 5yrs to help around the house without starting a fight?

we both work full time and split all the bills equal 50/50.we live in a condo complex that does all the "outdoor work" for us(mowing,repairs ect)plus they will fix anything that goes wrong inside too.my bf would never think to wash his own clothes and will complain when something he wants is dirty rather than just wash it himself.trying to get him to help get groceries will almost allways end in a fight.on the weekend he gets to go play golf,play with his son ect as our complex does all the "mens work".yes i have tryed to ask for help but he allways has an excuse i'm tired,i'll do it later,ect and it never gets done.what can i do i feel like i spend all my free time cleaning up after both of us.

tell him you are not cleaning up after him anymore and go on strike, and do not clean any of his things, only clean the things that you use, and no matter how much his things pile up don't back down from your position, he has to learn that compromise is part of a relationship, and that its not fair that you are doing all of the work, you are not his mother he can learn to clean up and wash him own things....

You need to have a sit down conversation with him. Don't do it when you are angry or upset or during one of his 'don't help times'.
Suggest you write down exactly what you want from him. For instance He will cook and you will wash dishes - and its agreed upon (or if you cook he does dishes).
Get him to agree to terms.

My bigger concern is why is he not respecting you? If he reneges or his promises or will not agree. You need to figure out are you better off with him or without?
