Will Democrats really dance for joy if the country goes down in flames? Will liberals really be happy if terrorists are toting AK-47s in Washington DC?

Obviously, if you don't believe it, it will do no good to answer the question. No "meta-reasoning" is allowed. You can't say "I think that they think..."

Polite answers appreciated. Do NOT insult my intelligence. Insults, racist slurs, personal attacks, and questions about "what I must be smoking" will be reported as abuse. Thoughtful, comprehensive, and logically defensible answers are a plus. If you want, leave your age. I suspect that only the generation that came of age during 9/11 must feel this way.

Yes, I know I must be crazy for asking the question in the first place. No judgment here. I just really want to know. As always, feel free to e-mail me for a real debate.

It's this flag-waving jingoism. I'm a conservative and I can see that this mindset is just insane.

Apparently Bushbots believe Bush when he said "either you're with us or you're with the terrorists." In other words, if you question the government, you're a terrorist...turning patriotism into treason, and dissent into terrorism.

I love America and I am not even a Yank....but I spent 6 years there at college. I cannot believe Americans are so paranoid to believe that terrorists will be dancing in the street.

However terrorism is a symptom of an underlying problem and cannot be defeated. Its like you would not paint out the red oil warning light on your dash in your car. You would check the oil. No where in the world has a terrorist force ever lost an armed conflict. Because eventually the invading force has to leave its a matter of economics.

America from this view point is going down in flames.... layoffs etc etc. Your foreign policy is THE MAIN cause of all the problems. America consistently interferes with other countries where there is a perceived threat. You taught Bin Laden to kill Russians and supplied him now he is against you. You supplied Sadam with weapons to take out Iraq then he turned on you.

We all in the world have to realise that we live on a planet called Earth. We have to fix the problems of our world so our kids have a place to grow ..... before its too late.

Well, I whole-heartedly agree with you! Conservative people DO NOT like change (well, most anyway) and since most Democrats want change, they are viewed in a negative light. 9/11 is a touchy subject because it has been a long long time before there has been an attack on America and people are more guarded and don't want change. I am a very liberal person (politcally anyway) but I am conservative when it comes to money matters and things of that nature. Oh, and I am 21 and a female and buying my first home. I am not sure if that makes me liberal or whatever, but I think people need to stop labeling. I am not a white, purple, black polka dotted person. I am a person, for the record though I am a white girl ;) I believe I went off track there, but again I thinks its all relative to your question because people started looking at certain races (ahem, muslims or anyone from that region) as a threat. We were also made to fear everyone! Its scary to think but my parents were born and raised in Jersey City, NJ which is the same city the hi-jackers lived in! Everyone just became edgy, plus with all this politcally correct non-sense, we are raising a generation of whimps! Totally off track, but I think it plays a part...correct of Iam wrong!

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard, democrats don't want terrorists to win.

By "liberating" Iraq all we have done was create more terrorists and more problems for ourselves. Were there any car-bombings in Iraq before the US came in? no. And how about Osama Bin Laden in Afganistan? Why did Bush send 250,000 troops to Iraq and only 10,000 to Afgahnistan? Iraq never, not once, provoked the US nor did they have weapons of mass destruction nor did they aid al-queda or Osama Bin Laden in any way.

You want to know whats anti-American? President Bush's disregard for the constitution and the bill of rights.

The fourth amendment has been violated by the Patriot act and the Administrations Wire Tapping.

The Fifth, Sixth and Eighth amendment have been violated in Guantanamo Bay, yes even foreigners have rights under the bill of rights, read the constitution.

"He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither"
-- Benjamin Frankin

We shouldn't let anyone take our rights just because it makes us safer.

I don't think that they do, really. The problem is many in the party keep advocating policies that are detrimental to the well-being of the United States and oppose just for the sake of opposing. Do they realize this? I think that they do, but the quest for power is so strong it overpowers everything else. The few, like Lieberman, who won't join the lock-step, are vilified within the party! I don't know what will happen if they win the 2008 Presidential election, but it will be interesting to see.

Democrats are invested in America's defeat. They have undermined every effort of the President for years. Once we complete the mission in Iraq, the Democrats will be out of power for years. The public knows what they are doing.

Rush Limbaugh has discussed this for months.

Democrats don't. They would like to see some sense coming from Bush - 12 troops killed since Sunday and 180 Iraqis blown away. Bush doesn't have a clue. We want America to be strong and safe, not pissed away in a dung hole like Iraq.

What we hate is witnessing this train wreck of an administration and the continued erosion of our military by amateurs like Bush.

In keeping with your general guidelines, I must still say that you must be from one of the Southern states, a rural area whose affinity for the church is stronger than the urge to defecate, and whose individualized viewpoint is extremely biased and, seemingly, uneducated, although I attest that I cannot truly state that any of that is true, but otherwise typical of those regions' demographical ideologies...anyway...

I am an 18-year-old Central Pennsylvanian who has listened to many political debates, especially the recent House presentations in which every member was given minutes to express his or her own opinion on the state of Iraq...it seems that the liberals are more logical when it comes to the problem of INTERFERING WITH A CULTURE. Republicans know that they are there to 'set up shop', harvest the oilfields, and "convert the heathens" like Americans are known for...do I really have to reiterate the triumphs of Columbus, Pizarro, or Andrew Jackson in slaughtering of native peoples for personal gains? The Iraqis do not want us interfering with their religion, culture, customs, or way of life - maybe they want security to guard against the radical Islamic sects, but that will have to be THEIR OWN PROBLEM as I'm pretty sure it is their country. If Republicans really had any intentions of leaving the Iraqi people to their own designs to establish their own forms of government without radical influence, then they would train those forces and not fight for them themselves. I can have my AP Calculus teacher do all my homework, but as soon as she leaves the room, I wouldn't be able to complete function 1...see the startling similarities of STAYING IN IRAQ? I don't even understand why it's an issue of whether the Democrats are right or not. And, as far as my expansive knowledge extends, I can see no grounds for your conjecture that Democrats want, oh, what was it you said? - TERRORISTS TO WIN?! That's probably more ridiculous than Tamarind-flavored Jolly Rancher Lollipops...only your conjecture has even worse taste. Congratulations on making America as intolerant as it has become and being that person who hands out "help yourself" pamphlets to those who have great ideas for liberalism and self-expression. And, if you have that impulse to submit me as violating your guidelines, that will only reinforce my own conjecture that you are unaccepting of free speech and personal criticism, which is why this country was established.

Because democrats, specifically liberals are constantly trying to defund the war and protest the war effort, claim that we are teh terrorists of the world and that there were no terrorists anywhere untill we got to the middle east (although they have been there and active since at least the 80's). They hate their president so blindly that they are willing to lose a war and label groups like hezbollah who kill civialians in suicide bombs as "freedom fighters" all just to prove Bush wrong. They are willing to have their country Rot just to prove the commander in chief wrong. They compare the united states to hitler etc.

There is a fine line that seperates patriotic dissent from hate for your country, all democrats have crossed that line.
