They were my pre-season choice and i am sticking with them. You can't replace all the experience all their young players got in last year's playoffs, players such as Getzlaff, Perry, Penner, Kunitz, and Beauchemin to name some. That, and with the addition of Chris Pronger in the off season make them the team to beat. The only thing that disturbs me about them is that they take way too many penalties, especially in the third period and overtime. Aside from that, I do not see anyone being able to beat them in a 7 game series.

bill, i imagine the ducks CAN win the Stanley Cup...in the journey that they get previous Detroit. I gotta stick by technique of my team in this one, and that i particularly imagine Detroit will pull through in 6 or 7. i does no longer take any income into what XCutie has to assert. She's an glaring %. bunny (thinking she's lower than the impression that the ducks gained the Stanley Cup very last year). the perfect hockey team that ever performed the game? infrequently. One Stanley Cup? There are different storied franchises round which have gained a loopy volume of Stanley Cups, who had truly some the perfect assembled communities that ever performed the game. to respond to the question again: they can, no one is conscious what the destiny holds.

NO! Their best position is goalie. The defense ended up being average after all the hype. Selanne is carrying the team again. Racking up points with overtime games against bad teams during the regular season is not the playoffs. At best they have two good lines. Chris and Rob are good puck movers-but they are looking real slow-players are just skating around them. That said they are in the top five teams in the west. They have been sub-500 this year (2007) and are backing into the playoffs. They can beat teams that are not playing at full potential-but Sharks, Red Wings, or Predators at top game are going to eat up the ducks. Sunday Nashville was missing their five best players and goalie and only lost in shootout to the ducks. So-it is possible they can win it-I wouldn't bet on every other team being off their game though.

I personally am picking them because of the presence of Pronger and Nidermeyer, and a playoff-tested Goalie, but if I had to put money on it I'd say no.

That is NOT a contradiction. The problem is that this year, more than ever before there are too many teams to choose from, ESPECIALLY in the west. Look particularly at the Goals for and Goals against there, they look almost identical for all the playoff teams!

Maybe but not this season. Losing semi-finalists and losing finalists tend to fall back the following playoff year. We also see Pronger is basically not 100% and the team has played very poorly in the second half which is also not a good sign.

I would say they do have a shot in 2008.

No, they won't get past the Red Wings.
At the beginning of the season I thought they would but when they lost Pronger for awhile they fell apart. If a team is relying that much on ONE player they will not make it.
