Hello there, I have a question about me, I had unprotected sex and my boyfriend did come inside me, I did take the 'morning after pill' but i took it after the 72 hour mark, it happened around 11pm Thursday night and I took the pill Monday at 5pm,so is that 30hrs after the end mark? But I have also been taking 'Rhodiola Rosea' which is a herbal anti-depressant, now I have heard 'St Johns Wort' can effect the 'morning after pill' from working, does anybody know if it is the same with this herbal drug, plus I have been on websites to find out when I was most fertile and Thursday was in that 'most fertile' stage, are the odds stacked against me, is it likely the 'morning after pill' won't work???

I don't know about the effects of the herbs on the effectiveness of the morning after pill, but taking it after the first 24-48 hours does reduce it's effectiveness by 50%. So, basically, it's a 50-50 shot. Wait a couple weeks and take a pregnancy test to be sure. Good luck!

St Johns wort does cancel the pill and a morning after pill is simply a stong pill.

You may be surprised to know it, but one of the most knowledgable people to ask would be the person at the pharmacy counter. Herbal drugs should be taken with the same caution as prescription drugs, since they indeed do have some affect on the body.

the reason morning aftre pill has to be taken in the first 72 hrs is because it takes betweein 72 and12hrs for the sperm to reach the egg and fertilize it, the pill kills off the sperm stopping it fertilizing, if however the sperm caught at 72 hrs then the pill wont affect it as it has already done its job heres hoping yours was still on its way, i wont answer the herbal bit as ive no idea on that one , but when you bought the morning after pill the pharmacist usually questions you before hell sell it, why he didnt ask about anything your taking does strike me as odd, so if you are pregnant and the pharmacist didnt ask about meds then you need to take him to court

If you took it after 72 hours the pill will not work. If your period is more than aweek late take a pregancy test to be sure but odds are agianst you that the pill did not work

Just take the pregnancy test, then do what you want to?
As for unprotected sex, if its been your long term partner then ok.
If not you want shooting.
The herbal drugs do affect youir system as any drug will.
