If she wants to give you the "loan fee," then it's perfectly all right to accept it. It was her idea, and she wouldn't offer if she didn't think it was the right thing for her to do.
Better yet, take that $30 and invest it in your mom, so you don't feel like you're taking her money. Sign her up for a class, or get her a book, on how to responsibly handle personal finances. Or sign her up for Gamblers Anonymous - if she's betting away her rent money (and borrowing cash from her teenage daughter), then she's not in control of her gambling habits and needs a wake-up call before she gets really addicted.

You should probably not ask for more money. It looks like you will be lucky if you get the $300 back by the time you turn 18. She took the money for Vegas. I assume she lost the money.

Keep none of the extra money- long term you may need to borrow money from her at some point and do you really want to feel the obligation to pay her 10% in interest?

I think that it depends on you r relationship with your mom if it was my family it would be no question to offer or ask for the 30 bucks if she did offer then I would of course take. It may help her grow up it sounds to me like blowing rent money on gambling is kind of stupid and immature. I would take it if she were offering.

I don't think your mother should be borrowing money from you period!!!!!!!!!!!! You should be saving your money for school, a car, your future. She's had her life and look at the mess she's in - borrowing money from her 16 year old that she doesn't even live with!!! Please don't give her any more money - save it for YOU!!! Don't support her irresponsibility by lending her money.

Take the extra $30.00 and use them to take your mom out for lunch or to the movies. Use this extra money for you not to feel guilty and to spend some time with mom!! or if you have siblings spend it on them!.

Accept her offer, but you can tell her 'mom, this makes me a bit uncomfortable". If she continues to want you to take it, do so.
