Vitamin E will soften the appearance, not make them go away. I have yet to find a product that will do so. Stretchmarks are like scars, they fade and flatten with time but they will always be there. Toning with exercise can improve things a bit. My husband who is firm and slim has always had them on the back of his calves for as long as I've known him. Go figure.
I have three kids and no stretchmarks on my abdomen, but I've had some on the back of my thighs ever since puberty.

If your stretch marks are over 12 months old then forget it. You need the stretch marks fresh with a blood supply still otherwise like a scar they are there for good. You need to use Vitamin E Capsules if you are going to test the theory. Prick them and use the neat oil in the capsule to rub onto your marks. The reason why they believe Vit E works so well as it is the vitamin used for blood circulation. The more blood flow you have in an area the more healing you get. ( that is why mouths heal so quickly).

I think Use it two - 4 times a day and see how you go from there. You could also try an oil called Bio-Oil. I used it throughout my pregnancy and never got one stretch mark

Good luck

Oh my, it will take quite awhile , but eventually it may fade them, in time they fade naturally anyway but the vitamin e may help speed this up a bit. Sometimes it may not help at all- unfortunately they are one things that def. stays with us -short of surgery to remove them-alot of products clain to make then vanish but any reputable dr will tell you thats not the case. Just keep using it and dont worry about seeing the results and thenwhen day you may be surprised that they are less noticable.good luck
