I'm a 21year old female and I will soon be moving out my parents house and feel like I need a gun for protection. So I wanted to know if I can purchase a gun without a permit in the state of Georgia. I know that you have to be 21 to purchase a gun period and that you need to have a permit to carry one but do you have to have a permit to just keep one in your house? If you know anything about this or if you know of a website I can use to look up this information please let me know. Thank You

I live in Georgia and am a FLL (Federal licensed dealer) who owns my own gun store and all you need to do is pick the firearm - (rifle, pistol of shotgun) out that you want and fill out the background check and firearm transfer paperwork and the dealer calls it in, then if you have a clean background ie. NO felonies then the purchase is approved and you take the gun home with you. You do not need a Concealed Carry Permit to take it to the range or keep it in you're home. BTW if anyone here say's different just call the local police department and they will tell you the same thing that I just told you and you may hear a ppl saying no you can't, it seams like a lot of anti-gun ppl like to lie about this issue by saying NO but just check the facts or walk in to a gun store and ask them, and you'll see that what I stated is true.

Not legally. You have to have a permit to use a gun. And you should get trained to use it.
Carry mace, a personal alarm, Binaca (breath spray--use like mace, but it hurts worse and can blind), etc. A gun is more trouble than it's worth, and yields higher penalties if used.
